Wallpaper Group Alpha is a web application for generating mathematically symmetric wallpaper groups.

A wallpaper group is a mathematical classification based on the symmetry of two-dimensional repeating patterns, and it has been proven that these can be categorized into 17 types.

With Wallpaper Group Alpha, you can select a symmetry type and intuitively generate symmetric patterns through slider-based parameter manipulation. No matter how you adjust the sliders, the symmetry is maintained through their interactions, allowing you to generate endlessly repeating patterns.

For patterns you like, you can generate a sharing link using the Copy URL button. The URL contains all parameter information, allowing you to share the exact state of patterns you’ve discovered with others.

Generated patterns can be downloaded as images using the Save Image button.

In addition to still images, the app also features a Save Video function that records the pattern changes as you manipulate them.

Press the button to start recording, freely manipulate the parameters, then press the Stop button to download the recording of your parameter changes as video data.
